Pineapple Raita

 


Hello friends,

     Today I am going to share with you the pineapple raita recipe. Before that would like to share you the nutritional value. Pineapple is a tropical fruit and low calories but have an incredibly impressive nutrient profile. Christopher Columbus brought pineapples back to Europe after an expedition to South America. Pineapple has range of different health benefits. It decreases the risk of Obesity, Diabeties,heart disease. It also prevents the risk of developing Asthama and help to lowering blood pressure. As because pineapple is an excellent source of Vitamin C, a strong antioxidant, studies have shown beta-carotene to have an inverse association with the development of colon cancer. Pineapple also help to reduce swelling, bruising, pain associated with injury and surgical intervention. Antioxidant also help to fight skin damage, caused by the sun and polution. Reduce wrinkles and improve overall skin texture. But remember never take pineapple while you have an asparagus in your meal.

Ingredients:-

1. Tinned pineapple- 4 slices.

2. Yogurt- 1-1/2 cups(chilled) not sour.

3. Cumin seeds- 2 tsp.

4. Black salt- To taste.

5. Sugar- 2tsp.

6. Red pepper- 1/4tsp.

7. Black pepper powder- 1/4tsp.

8. Chili flakes- 1/2tsp.

9. Chaat masala- 1tsp.

10. Fresh mint leaves- 8-10(finely chopped).

11. Cilantro leaves- 1tbsp(chopped).

Preparation Method:-

Step 1- First dry roast cumin seeds in a non stick pan till frangnant and brown. Once cool down transfer them into a mortar pestle and coarsely crush them. Set aside.

Step 2- Now roughly chop pineapple slices.

Step 3- Take Yogurt in a large bowl. Whisk well,add chopped pineapple,mint leaves, black salt,sugar, crushed cumin powder(1tsp), red pepper, black pepper, chaat masala,chili flakes. Combine all ingredients well with pineapple.

Step 4- Transfer into a serving bowl. Garnish with remaining crushed Cumin powder and chopped cilantro leaves.

Step 5- Serve with biryani or Roti.

My first recipe - Traditional Indian Sweets "Jibhey Gajaa"
